The CFCV is the political arm of 6 of Victoria’s major shooting organisations.
It fights hard to help stop the sorts of attacks on shooters you’ve seen escalate over the past couple of years. We do this by backing pro-shooting candidates at state and federal elections, in the same way the NRA does in the US.
This is where you come into the plan.
What we’re facing
We’ve seen changes to laws in South Australia which are now making life harder for shooters, including forcing some to buy new safes. We’ve seen the Tasmania Police take control over the regulation of firearms from their own minister, and we’ve seen Victoria Police try to push their own ideas of firearm law reform to government without any consultation – and that’s why we’re now in VCAT with them.
The CFCV is the shooting industry’s funding vehicle to do lobbying and support pro-shooting candidates at state and federal election. That’s why we set up the Victorian Shooting Industry Fighting Fund. Every dollar we raise will go to changing the way shooters are being treated in our state, and hopefully in other states.
We want to create a far more positive world for shooters than we have now. With the right positive changes, we’ll be able to regain lost ground – and focus on buying more ammo!
How you can donate by doing your shopping
If you live near a Ritchies IGA, then grab one of our Ritchies IGA Community Benefits cards.
Produce your card at the checkout of your local Ritchies IGA (click here to find out where your local store is in Victoria or elsewhere), and part of what you spend will be donated to our fund!
It means buying bread, milk or cheese will result in direct support for the shooting sports. It’s that simple.
All you need to do is send us an email with your postal address by clicking here and we’ll send you your card in the mail straight away.
You can certainly see your enthusiasm within the paintings you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.
