Our gun laws can’t fight for themselves
With our state election now only days away, the shooting community needs to send a message NOW that we will fight for our sport .
We need every shooter to do something to protect their sport in a month’s time, otherwise it could be too late.
The current Labor government has treated the recreational shooting sports like rubbish. The Firearms Consultative Committee hasn’t met for a year while the government hid legislation from its members so it could sneak them through parliament, with the help of James Purcell, who is a turn coat.
We’ve seen police command target the legal shooting sports because they can’t catch the real crooks in Melbourne who have the illegal guns. We call into question the statistics used by Victoria Police, as toys, nail guns and stolen guns were included in the total numbers they claim for firearm thefts.
The current Labor govt are kowtowing to the Greens and other left-wing parties. If you aren’t sure about what they stand for, see their policies on shooting – they want it banned.
This Labor government stands for reducing public access. Currently they are looking to create the Great Forest National Park, which would shut shooting out from large parts of Victoria north-east of Melbourne. Yet it was shooters, not government nor the protester groups, who money into keeping the wild fowl swamps.
Victoria Police is making up firearms policy because the Labor Government has abrogated its responsibility to provide leadership in this area. The current government has no interest in your sport and just wants you to disappear.
